Research

Danielle Heitmuller is an animator and illustrator working at the intersection of art and technology. Her work explores the creation of worlds and experiences that immerse audiences in fantastic landscapes or impossible situations. The goal is to create a shared experience that expands world-view and increases empathy. Danielle received her BFA in Animation from Rochester Institute of Technology. She also holds an MFA from the prestigious Animation Workshop at University of California, Los Angeles. While at UCLA, she received the Matt Groening Production Fellowship twice, as well as the Edie and Lew Wasserman Fellowship for her thesis. Her independent short films have been shown in festivals throughout the US and around the world. Upcoming works include book projects, a new experiential project, and an animated short. She is a partner in a motion graphics company focused on experiential works such as concerts and theatrical shows. Additionally, she has 20 years of professional experience in Motion Graphics and Visual Effects for film and advertising. She collaborated on a project that is part of the permanent collection at Eureka! The National Children’s Museum in Halifax England. http://www.heitmuller.com/
