Takeshi Moro was born in Japan, raised in the U.K. and currently works in the San Francisco Bay Area. Moro studied photography at Rhode Island School of Design and holds a B.A. in Visual Arts from Brown University. He completed his M.F.A. graduate studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Moro’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally including solo exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago and Serlachius Museot, Finland. His work resides in the permanent collection at Museum of Contemporary Photography, as well as in various private collections.

December 5, 2023

Takeshi Moro's exhibit titled Benign Neglect’ was listed as the Most Impactful Show I Almost Missed, according to KQED's Sarah Hotchkiss. This exhibit was on display at the Military Intelligence Service Historic Learning Center in San Francisco earlier in the Fall.

Takeshi Moro’s participation in a Japantown exhibit on  Transient Existence, focused on internment camps and other transience, was covered KQED Arts.
